How Long Will It Take My Anacortes Home to Sell?

by Jean Groesbeck ~ November 1st, 2008. Filed under: Anacortes Market Stats, MARKET STATISTICS.

Selling your home can be frustrating in a slow market, especially if you do not have the information to know what expectations are realistic.

There is a lot of discussion in the news about the real estate market, nationally and about Seattle, but these reports do not have much impact on us.  Why?

Ø      By the time the news reports on the real estate market, it is old news.  This is a fast paced business, and stats that are 2 months old are not meaningful.  (This is why we have gone to a blog format for real estate news rather than snail mail).

Ø      Real Estate is the most LOCAL business on earth!

The Anacortes real estate market is what is important to Anacortes home buyers and sellers.  We have a wide variety of properties on Fidalgo Island from Victorian homes in Old Town, to view homes in Skyline, to fabulous Waterfront Estates.

Generally speaking, home that are more expensive take longer to sell because there are fewer buyers.  However, the real factor is not price but VALUE.  The best value AS PRECEIVED BY THE BUYER is what will sell first.

How do you make your home the best value?  Price it right.  In this slow market you have to price under the competition slightly if you are to be a better value.  Or if you are priced the same but your Shelter Bay home is superior is terms of condition of the home, floor plan, age of the home, curb appeal, staging, etc.  Then your home will be perceived by most to be a better value.
